Meet our new non-profit!

Outside the Bowl serves more than just soup.

Carlsbad, California (June 14, 2010) – Outside the Bowl’s Port-de-Paix super kitchen will be feeding thousands of hungry Haitians every day by the end of the summer. A Tijuana, Mexico kitchen and a second Haiti facility are scheduled to be constructed, cooking and distributing hot meals by the end of 2010.

“We are incredibly excited to be working in places like Haiti,” said Jae Evans, founder and executive director of OTB, “providing hot meals and using that food to empower in-country organizations to love, teach and serve their communities rather than spending time feeding it, too.”

Outside the Bowl is a non-profit organization that helps eliminate physical and spiritual starvation by building super kitchens in developing nations and showing God’s love to those they feed. The model kitchen in Paarl, South Africa–built in 2008–has now served more than 2 million hot meals.

OTB renovates cargo shipping containers; packs them with a complete kitchen (including 700-pound electrical kettles) and building materials; and ships it to the site. The kitchen can be constructed and operational in weeks. The mass-production facilities are capable of cooking up to 8,000 hot meals a day and are then distributed directly to orphanages, schools, medical clinics, churches and other similar organizations.

In 2011, OTB will be working in Africa as well as continuing its work in Haiti and Mexico. To find out more, please visit
