He has chosen to travel a path on his own. Served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war, to protestor, turned activist on the streets of San Francisco circa 1971. Later, he moved to the deserts of Arizona, where he was part of the Center of Creative Photography. There, he studied with master photographer Jack Welpott, who became his mentor and taught him about aesthetics, technique and daring to expand the boundaries of photographic style. He also learned from other teachers such as Harold Jones, Todd Walker and, briefly, by Eugene Smith. A man of contradiction; always striving to refine his consciousness, he traded the scope of a rifle for the lens of a camera. Documenting the world through his lens.
